Michael Schumacher still keeping faith in Mercedes – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Michael Schumacher has said that he is still keeping faith in his team and is positively looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming 2012 Formula 1 season.
Schumacher struggled with the aerodynamics of W03 in the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix held at Circuit Gilles and could not score even a single point as he was retired. Moreover, it will be important to mention that it was the fifth retirement of veteran German
driver in the season so far.
Nonetheless, the seven-time world champion said that he is not feeling disappointed while he expressed his committed with the Brackley based team.
“I wanted to emphasise once again that Formula 1 cars are prototype vehicles and hundreds of components are made specially for them,” he said. “For me, it's completely understandable that things can go wrong from time to time. Of course it was a disappointing
outcome in Montreal. But I won't lose my nerve or my faith in the team. I still believe that we will achieve something special together with Mercedes.”
He added, “There is no reason to blame anyone - unfortunate circumstances like these are part of motor racing. Indeed, I'm certain it's even tougher for the guys in the team.”
The record championship holder has shown some impressive qualifying performances in few of the races in the season until now. However, he could not be able to convert his competitive grid positions into a podium finish in either of the race.
Furthermore, it will be important to mention that he topped the timesheets in the qualifying of the Monaco GP held at Circuit de Monaco but he faced five-place grid penalty because of his collision with Bruno Senna of Williams in the fifth race.
In addition, the team principal of Mercedes, Ross Brawn apologised to Schumacher for the issues which he faced in the last race and admired his attitude and temperament. He added that they are trying their best to resolve the problems as soon as possible
and provide their struggling driver with the competitive car for the forthcoming races.
Over and above, he said that they are making the essential preparations for 2012 European GP which is to be held at Valencia Street Circuit in June 24.
