Michael Schumacher thanks Mercedes and wishes them success in future – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Michael Schumacher has expressed his immense gratitude towards his team for its unconditional commitment as Lewis Hamilton of McLaren has been confirmed as his replacement for 2013.
Schumacher made his F1 return in 2010 with the Brackley based team. Even though, he struggled during the last two seasons as he was completely outperformed by his teammate, Nico Rosberg, nevertheless, he has performed quite convincingly in this season so
far.
However, it has been recently confirmed that he is going to leave his current team after this year and will be replaced by Hamilton who will drive as Rosberg’s teammate in the next season.
Although, the future of the seven-time world champion in the sport is still uncertain but he has expressed his thanks towards the Silver Arrows and has wished them all the success in the future.
Furthermore, he said that he is extremely thankful to all his team members for their love and support. In addition, he said that he is now focussing to perform well in the remainder of the season.  
"I have had three nice years with the team which unfortunately did not go as well as we all would have wanted on sporting side," Schumacher said. "I wish Lewis well and for team to achieve success we worked so hard for in build-up. I would like to thank
team for their trust and all guys for their unconditional commitment. I will now concentrate on next races."
After announcing the arrival of the 27-year-old, the team principal of Mercedes, Ross Brawn has said that they are all very grateful to the record championship holder who has given a lot of strength to the team.  
"On behalf of MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS, I would first of all like to thank Michael Schumacher for the important contribution he has made to the growth of our team over the past three seasons," Brawn said.
Besides, the motorsport boss of Mercedes, Norbert Haug said that the legendary driver has played a key role in the re-establishment of their team in the world of F1 and they are indebted to him for all his efforts.
