Michael Schumacher vs Rubens Barrichello, a clash of the titans
Before 2005
Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello were the best of friends when they were teammates in Ferrari for almost 6 years. They are the two most experienced drivers in Formula 1 and one has to admit, they were like the “brothers of destruction” (just like
Kain and The Undertaker from WWE).
They won each and every race and frankly speaking, Formula 1 was becoming extremely boring during Ferrari’s dominance from 2000-2005.
Both of them battled against the whole Formula 1 grid and at first, they were facing some problems. But after the 2002 season, things became a lot easier with the departure of the legendary Mika Hakkinen from McLaren. The two drivers were like a brick and
they were like brothers.
Lewis Hamilton:
“They were homies dawg”
Well put my black friend. They certainly were like a family. They were as close as a closed fist. Both of them loved each other extremely. In fact, Rubens loved Michael Schumacher so much that he decided to dedicate a number of his points to Michael Schumacher
in order to ensure Michael wins the championship even though he was already leading the drivers’ standings by a mile. Yes, that is how much they loved each other.
After 2005
On a serious note, they hated each other so much back when they were teammates that they couldn’t stand each other. Rubens was openly held back by the team and as a result, he was unable to score better results than his teammate Michael Schumacher.
Many people even believe that Rubens could have won one of those 5 titles easily. But that was just not meant to happen since Ferrari did not want it to.
Ross Brawn:
“Don’t talk about my Michael like that! He’s a living God!”
Yes of course Mr. Brawn. He is a God without a personality. There is no doubt that Michael Schumacher is definitely one of the best drivers we have ever witnessed. His driving skills are beyond every other driver in the sport but he is like a 9 year old
when he is off the race track (sometimes even on the track but that depends on what situation he is in).
Everything in between:
Michael Schumacher, my old friend, he secured 7 World titles out of which 5 of them were with his best friend/brother Rubens Barrichello. Michael is without a shadow of a doubt the best driver statistically and no one can take it away from him. The German
legend is back in Formula 1 once again but this time with Mercedes GP.
After a pathetically disastrous season, Michael is hoping to score wins in 2011 with the team as he believes that he will be able to prepare the car according to his likings this time.
On the other hand, Rubens Barrichello has been in Formula 1 since 1993 and broke the record of most race starts by any driver this year. However, all these starts were...sort of useless as compared to Michael Schumacher as he was unable to secure a single
title but managed to finish in 2nd place a number of times in the drivers’ standings and helped Ferrari and Brawn GP secure the constructors’ titles as well. Rubens hopes to continue his “title-less” journey once again in Williams this time.
In order to find out who is the better driver, the two aged drivers should sit down and turn on a video game console called Nintendo Wii. Play a game of Mario Kart and settle this matter once and for all. If they want to add some more spice to this battle,
they should compete against each other in a “Battle race” and take out all their frustration as well while they are at it.
However, if Michael Schumacher tries to kill Rubens Barrichello during this process, Michael will be disqualified. In order to ensure a fair match, both of them will be allowed to bring their own controllers. Otherwise, Michael will sue the whole world.
Michael Schumacher:
“I will be back again once again and this time, I and Ross Brawn will ensure that we create a controller according to my likings”.
Ross Brawn:
“I am already on it my Michael”.
