  1. spinks would knock out calzaghe in few bloody rounds. Micheal was big for a light heavy and people forget that he also had a huge punch. spinks fought dwight qwai for 15 grueling rounds, and qwai was one of those fighters who seemed immune to fatigue, and on top of that, spinks won an easy UD. spinks also moved up to defeat an aging but still difficult larry holmes. spinks was also never knocked down in his career (forget the tyson fight, tyson had legendary power and spinks was scared out of his mind) if gerry cooney and holmes cant drop spinks, calzaghe's amateurish punching style wont do anything to him. Joe's been dropped 3 times in his career, and one was to mediocre punching former middleweight hopkins. Joe comes out throwing wide arm punches like in the hopkins fight, gets nailed by spinks straight right, hits the deck and never recovers, getting stopped in the 2nd round

  3. Spinks, Joe should stay at the lighter weight, he lacks power in light heavy, IMHO.

  4. Interesting question.  Calzaghe is a good fighter and has good speed without a doubt, but would be in over his head against Spinks who never lost as a light heavyweight.  Spinks would cut off the ring and finally catch Joe in about the 8th round with his famous Spinks Jinx right hand for the 10 count.

  5. Spinks

  6. spinks is much stronger at the weight, and is one of the top 5 all time light heavy champions, so he would dominate spinks and stop him in 10 rounds.
