http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Uchebo-c25394 has expressed his desire to leave VVV-Venlo this summer on a free transfer. The 22-year-old has an expiring contract at De Koel Stadion that runs until the summer of 2012.
The young striker joined the Good Old half-way through the 2009/10 season in the January transfer window from Enugu Rangers.
Despite showing a lot of promise at the start of his career, the Nigerian ace never really lived up to the expectations at De Koel Stadion. Netting only eight goals in 58 Eredivisie appearances, the youngster failed to perform
at his best since joining the Venlo outfit.
With his ongoing contract due to expire this summer, the club management expressed their desire to prolong his stay at VVV. However, the Nigerian international has made it clear that he wants to move abroad this summer for greener
pastures.
Uchebo was extremely distressed while revealing about his decision to leave the Venlose Trots, while admitting that he learnt a lot at De Koel Stadion.
“It's a very difficult decision for me because my heart is with VVV-Venlo. Venlo was the club that gave me the opportunity to come to Europe to play football and it is a very nice club. The club, the staff and the fans have been
amazing to me. I have developed and learnt a lot at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VVV-Venlo-c40915”, the Nigerian hit-man was quoted as saying to supersport.com.
The youngster went on to reveal that he had a tremendous time in Venlo, and has insisted that he will always remember the club.
“I will keep VVV-Venlo in my heart forever. I will never forget the fantastic supporters, the atmosphere in the stadium and especially the fantastic result we booked at home against the big teams like Ajax, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar,
Twente and Feyenoord”, Uchebo concluded.
The promising attacker was close to joining Barclays English Premier League outfit, Stoke City, earlier this year in the winter transfer window. However, the move failed to materialise due to work permit issues.
