Question:

Michael Vaughan?

The England captain is going from bad to worse. He's only scored a half century or more twice this year. In the same time he's failed to break into double figures SIX times. Today is his second duck of this series and this time it was a golden duck. Batting at number three you'd expect him at least to get 30 or so.

Surely it is now time to at the very least replace him as captain as obviously he can't captain and bat at the same time?

  1. I would actually have more of a problem with his form if he was getting lots of 20's and 30's and then getting out. Getting dismissed in single figures, or ducks, is unfortunate, and this is often when a batsman is most at risk as he hasn't got his eye in.

    Eventually the runs will come.

As for whether he should be replaced: Why?

Is there a problem with his captaincy? No. Fine, the team have to carry him because of his woeful batting, but his captaincy skills make up for his lack of runs.

It is when his captaincy starts to lose its edge that he should be replaced.

  2. give him more time

  3. I think he should be given more time.

  4. i think its really difficult time for vaughan.. he has to leave if he not perform in next inning

  5. Typical England fan!!! criticising instead of getting on the teams side!!

Removing him from captaincy because a couple of bad scores would be way too drastic!! Michael Vaughan has done a lot for English cricket, with his batting and captaincy!! so removing him after a bad year is pathetic!!

The man is out of form!! Its not like suddenly he has become a bad player!! England have stuck by players in recent times when they are going through bad patches (like Geraint Jones, Ian Bell and most recently Paul Collingwood)

You have to remember that form is temporary, CLASS IS PERMANENT!!

Vaughan averaged over 50 last year in test cricket.

Vaughan has been one of the most consistent England batsmen over the last 30 years for England.

Not to mention that he is a superb captain and a great man to have in the dressing room! Getting rid of the captain at this stage would stink of panic, and it would certainly make the dressing room and uneasy place to be!!

Stick with the player, instead of criticizing him!!
