The 36-year-old former Manchester cricketer said that grabbing the top spot on ICC’s ODI ranking table is the next challenge for the Poms.
"We also want to see them become the world number one team in one-day cricket too. That is the next challenge,” said that former England top order batsman while talking to the media reporters on the sidelines of the launch of a social welfare project.
The Andrew Strauss-led England side thwarted India by an innings and 242 runs in Birmingham to seal the top spot on International Cricket Council’s Test rankings table.

"We haven't won a World Cup yet and I think that will be (coach) Andy Flower's next goal," said the former English skipper.
He also urged Strauss and his men to be consistent in their performance going forward.
"Number one in the world is something we should all celebrate but the main thing now is to stay there,” said the skipper of the 2005 Ashes-winning team.
"I really think this team now has got a great opportunity to go on and dominate Test cricket for a number of years. I just see the depth in this squad and I know how professional they all are,” he added further.
England currently lead the four-match Test series against India 3-0 and must be eager to inflict a 4-0 whitewash on the formidable http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 side when they play the tourists in the last Test of the series commencing on Thursday, August 18, at the Oval.
