England is scheduled to host two series in this summer against Sri Lanka and India. Team Sri Lanka is ready to leave for England to play a series at the end of this month.
In a media interview here on today, Vaughan said, “England will hammer Sri Lanka and Anderson will have a field day. When it swings, Anderson is up there with Steyn as the best in the world. Steyn is the King at the minute and to catch him will take some
doing, but I see that being achievable and I think he could be the No. 1 Test bowler in the world.”
Anderson has been at rest since his early ouster from the the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 tournament for poor bowling performance. Having conceded six runs in an over in a group game, Anderson lost his position for the last group game and the quarter-final
game.
However, after his return from the World Cup, Anderson has worked a lot to improve his physical fitness and bowling stamina. He now feels himself quite perfect for any big game and the upcoming series will be a fresh start for him.
Vaughan also praised Anderson’s bowling skills and capabilities. He told, “Anderson swings it as well as anyone.”
The 36-year-old retired cricketer thinks that the home ground advantage and favourable weather conditions in this summer will assist the pacer to make impact and elevate to the top position.
Vaughan believes that the 28-year-old Anderson has great firepower at his helm and he will bowl consistently in the two coming series.
Anderson possesses an excellent medium-fast bowling skills and marvellous track record. He has been on field since 2002 and has represented the English in many international series and tournaments. The pacer has some iconic marks to his credit.
