Michael Voss, what about West Coast ?

Sure, who would pass up a Senior Coaching offer at the club he once played and lead the team to three premierships, but what about West Coast?

We will always have the right to feel disappointed, but do we have the right to feel betrayed and let down?

  1. Wow. You lot can't keep anyone can you?

  2. Yeah, i'm also quite annoyed because the lions had planned this since the beginning of the year and they played as for fools. He was 'assistant coach' for the shortest team in history! Can't blame him for going back to the lions, but of course you have to be disappointed, i was looking forward to seeing vossy at the eagles, i think it would have helped us out a lot. I guess it wasn't to be!

  3. Dont cry you still have peter sumich haahahahaha

  4. Betrayed? Let down?!!

West coast sed that he could go if he wanted and take the job!!

  5. ah well, he didnt actually do anything at west coast, so you shouldnt feel too heart broken.

  6. seems to be the common thread down at west coke land, every one is jumping off the bald eagles..............what a shame!

  7. I don't understand all the fuss. What has Michael Voss done as a coach? Who says he will be any good as a coach? A great player maybe, but that doesn't necessarily make a good coach. He is untried.

  8. what about west coast

why would he want to coach the worst team and drug addicts in the comp his future is in brisbane, not the gutters of perth

  9. Here is 50c, go call someone who cares? Answer, NO you do not.

  10. im so dissapointed, when i found out i got so angry because vossy coming to wa to help the eagles rebuild would be outstanding for the club and it was a big loss to the eagles, i cant belive it. he should start his coaching carreer not as high up as head coach - like after the 2 years he was at the wce he should go 2 brisbane.

  11. Sorry, but it was always going to happen.

In the contract between Voss and West Coast, there was a clause which meant he could leave the club (West Coast) if a head coaching role was available and Voss was the successful applicant.

Knowing how sort after Voss is in a coaching role .............. why on earth would you allow susch a stipulation in a contract ....... it (the stipulation) was always going to bite west coast on the butt.

  12. Broooooce: i see you've gone down the boring old childish path again!!

Anyway, yeah I think we can feel let down! I think Voss would have been great at West Coast and i think he and Worsfold would have worked well together. Hopefully we can find someone else before Freo get 'em!!

I sure don't begrudge Michael Voss his new role, he will always be one of my three alltime fave players!

  13. It will be interesting to see how someone with no assistant coaching experience gets on at a club like Brisbane, who are not in the best situation as they are neither solid performers nor rebuilding.   I think that Voss has walked in just before they take an almighty slump.  Of course, if the Lions do worse next year, how many people will attribute this to Voss?  A lot of people have said that he isn't ready to be a head coach yet, and failure next year will prove it.

I'm very disappointed he isn't coming to West Coast.  I think he'd have brought some great skills and attitude, and would have learned something different in return.  So far his experience is Lions, Lions and more Lions.  And that's a bit limiting.  The Lions are also thinking with their hears and not with their brains too.  Its a romantic appointment, but it will look like a very poor one if it doesn't pay off and then directors heads will be on the line too.

Its a great opportunity for him, but a huge risk. But could he have turned it down?  I think not.  Would he have taken the Lions role if he'd got the Gold Coast job that it looked like he was going to take?  I guess we'll never know.
