Michael Wasley all set to face James Wattana in UKPTC – Snooker Update
England’s Michael Wasley performed tremendously in the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) events at the start of the new snooker season and booked his place in the pro circuit tour. The Englishman was quite excited and all set to launch his
run in the new season. Wasley was very hopeful of making an appearance in the new season with a fresh start to his run.
He started his new season campaign with participation in the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker event qualifying session but could win only one match. He crashed out of the event in the second round at the hands Passakorn Suwannawat by the score line of 5-1. He performed
comparatively better in the qualifying session of the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open snooker event because he made his way to the third round qualifiers where he lost to Nigel Bond.
He did not participate in the Asian Players Tour Championship (APTC) but he is looking forward to display his snooker genius in the 2012 UKPTC where he will be facing Thailand’s James Wattana.
Wasley has never played against Wattana before and is looking forward for a healthy competition against the Thai potter at the South West Snooker Academy baize in Gloucester.
While speaking to the local media, Wasley said, “It's nice to be playing on home ground with a different status. Before now I was playing as an amateur and it will be nice to try and prove what I can do as a professional. I'm playing James Wattana, he's
a massive talent and he's a huge sensation out in Thailand and one of the best sportsmen they've ever produced.”
He added, “It's going to be a great experience to play someone who's such a big name in the sport and who has achieved so much.”
Both cuemen are in good shape now and can bring thrilling game on the table. Wasley is determined to cash the opportunity so that he can make his position strong in the recent snooker season because he has a lot of tournaments ahead.
It will be interesting to see Wasley take on Wattana as both players are in good form and will be looking to put in a good performance.
