Michael Wasley targets TV appearance in news snooker season – Snooker Update
Despite hard tries during the first two major ranking events of the new snooker season, the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) entrant, England’s Michael Wasley was unable to book his place in the initial stages of the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker
tournament and the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open event.
Wasley was unable to produce any fireworks at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield during the qualifying sessions of both events and tumbled down in the line-up.
Right now he is all set to go and take part in the UKPTC event at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester where he will face the Thai potter James Wattana. He is aiming to play at his best in the game and prove his talent. The basic objective of Wasley
is to improve his game and cruise into the televised stages of major ranking snooker tournaments of the new season.
While speaking to the local media about his ambition, Wasley said, “My target is to first of all win as many matches as I can, but the second one is to qualify for one of the venue finals, to make the last 32 of one of the ranking events and get on to the
TV. I would love to be able to make a TV appearance this season, then longer term my aim is the same as any player.”
He added, “Getting to the Crucible is not out of my depth, I can do that this year. But if I can qualify for any event then that would be a massive achievement.”
Wasley entered the new snooker season campaign after pushing himself hard in the 2012 World Snooker Q School and claimed the pro tour ticket. He was quite hopeful of making an appearance in the new snooker season and he started his run with impressive form
but he failed to improvise and crashed out of the events.
After that he was supposed to play in the Asian Players Tour Championship (APTC) but due to some reasons he did not take part in the APTC. However, now he seems to be in good form and will be looking to make a positive impact in the pro circuit during the
new snooker season.
