Michael Wasley to take part in next two pro tour circuits: 2012 World Snooker Q School
Final leg of the 2012 World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) completed successfully featuring four new faces who will take part in the upcoming season for the next two years. The third event of the Q School at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield featured
England’s Michael Wasley as the new professional potter who defeated Scotland’s Fraser Patrick by the score line of 4-3 in the quarter-final stage.
Wasley had a tussling quarter-final encounter against Patrick and dragged the game into a decider frame where he was victorious by the score line of 4-3. At one stage it seemed that the match is going out of his hands but the English potter managed to come
back into the game and clear the table before the Scottish cueman could do more damage.
Speaking to World Snooker after his success in the 2012 World Snooker Q School, Wasley said, “I was very disappointed to lose in the second event, so to win this time is amazing. I had a few negative thoughts tonight when the score was 3-3, but I put them
to one side and finished strongly.”
He added, “I've been working with Terry Griffiths and trying to improve my mental strength and I think that is what got me through. Snooker is on the up so I'm delighted to be joining the tour at the right time.”
During his tournament campaign, Wasley defeated Christopher Keogan by 4-2 in Round 1, Vinnie Calabrese by 4-2 in Round 2, James Cahill by 4-2 in Round 3 and Allan Taylor by 4-2 in Round 4 to set up Patrick clash in the quarter-final stage.
The World Snooker Q School has produced Martin O'Donnell, Ian Burns, Chen Zhe, Sam Baird, Daniel Wells, Jamie O'Neill, Paul Davison, Sean O'Sullivan, Joel Walker, Robbie Williams, Rod Lawler and Michael Wasley as the new professional potters who will be
playing among the top guns of snooker as they start their pro tour in the upcoming snooker seasons. It will be interesting to see what type of impact Wasley can make in the next two snooker seasons.
