Michael Yardy returns to county cricket after suffering from depression: Cricket News
England’s limited overs specialist, Michael Yardy, is ready to make his way back to competitive cricket for his county http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 after suffering from depression during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in the sub-continent.
The 30-year-old left arm spinner decided to leave his team in the middle of the mega event claiming that he was suffering from a psychological disease, which was the primary reason of being sent off by the English management.
The limited overs specialist has said that he is thankful to the people who have supported him during this period. Yardy also thanked the media for not interfering too much into his personal life.
Yardy said, "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the supporters and all those who have sent personal messages for their support over the last month, and the media for giving me and those close to me the privacy we have needed."
The left arm spinner has so far played 28 One Day International (ODI) matches for England in which he has taken only 21 wickets, but he is more useful with the bat also as his two half-centuries suggest. Yardy has also represented England in a handful of
T20 internationals, but he is yet to make his Test debut.
Yardy expressed that it was never easy for him to quit during the World Cup, but he wanted to be honest with himself and the team. He is now ready to take a new start in competitive cricket and wants to focus on the game and hopes that he will still be given
a lot of privacy.
"Leaving at this stage of a World Cup campaign was a very difficult decision to make but I felt that it was the only sensible option for me and I wanted to be honest about the reason behind that decision. I now intend to spend some time concentrating on
my cricket and would ask that people respect my decision to focus on my performances for Sussex and continue to give me the space I need," left arm spinner added.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marcus-Trescothick-c1898 also damaged his international career because of the same disease and we hope that Yardy can return to international cricket as well rather than limiting him to county cricket.
