Michael phelps diet applied to running?

i was reading this article - he consumes 12,000 calories a day

and i thought that this made sense because he was in peak condition for all his numerous races

he worked out so much and balanced it with food for no energy depletion

working out that much would also strengthen your body to a whole other level too

so can that be applied to running? at least to some point?

you would have to do multiple runs or other exercises during the day im guessing

if you ease into something like this, would your body eventually be stronger and more fit in what you are doing?

just curious on your thoughts

  1. World class swimmers spend more time in the pool than world class runners spend running.

Because of this difference in workouts, swimmers burn more calories.  Thus, they need more fuel.  Therefore they eat more.  The eating of 12k calories is a side-effect of the training, it is not a cause of his success.

You cannot apply Phelps training to running, it just is silly.  They are different sports.  Some of the ideas may be similar, but the training is different.

I fail to see why you want to eat 12k calories a day.  Just get on a healthy diet, train smart, and you will be successful.

  2. if you can run a 2 minute mile, then you are using a ton of calories and need more to balance it. but since no one broke a 3 minute mile, not even a 3:30, i think it takes a bit more to need an etra thousand or two calories.

  3. You should give this product a shot. It's called Acai Berry and it's new on the market, but already endorsed by people like Oprah! I just ordered a free 14-day trial from this site.. do it today! you won't regret it!
