The Brazil international has pledged his future with Les Gones and has stressed that he holds no desire to depart from Stade de Gerland despite asking to leave the club before the start of the season
The 29-year-old asked to leave the Ligue 1 outfit before the start of the season but now, the player feels that things have changed a lot at the club and he wants to stay at Stade de Gerland for foreseeable future.
Bastos, who has been linked with a move back to his native country, Brazil, has admitted that he wasn’t sure of his future before the start of 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign. However, things have changed at Lyon, and now the player feels more comfortable playing
for Remi Garde’s side.
While talking to reporters, the Brazilian stated that he doesn’t want to leave OL right now and wants to stay and help the club achieve its objectives this season.
Bastos, who has recently returned from injury, is looking forward to use the winter break to get back to full fitness and has revealed that he will not go back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 during the holidays. The player said that he needs more time in the gym to return to
full fitness and has added that he will stay at Lyon and work with the fitness coach in the winter break.
"I don't want to leave now, I want to stay. During the winter break I will not go back to Brazil, I will stay at Lyon to work with the fitness coach.”
Talking about any possible transfer, Bastos said that in order to complete a move, both parties need to be on the same page and if that isn’t the case, he would not leave OL at any cost.
"In a transfer both parties have to agree. If I see that it is not good for me, I will not leave.”
When asked about his decision to ask for a transfer before the start of the season, Bastos said that at that time, he wanted to leave. However, things have changed at Lyon to large extent and the player wants to stay at Lyon for foreseeable future.
"At the start of the season I did ask to leave, but things have changed.”
