Many players and managers have commented on the situation at Juventus with Del Piero, but Platini has distanced himself from making any controversial statements.

Del Piero is currently in the last year of his contract with the Old Lady and the striker has been heavily linked with moves abroad.

There would be no contract extension by the end of the summer and the club has not made any move to counter the statement they made in October. The striker joined the Lady
killers in 1993 from the Italian club, Padova, and his performances over the course of his career have handed him a legendary status at the club.

The former Italian international’s performances of late have reignited the debate on whether Juventus should be offering a contract to the 37-year-old. Besides his recent
performances, Del Piero confessed that he saw himself ending his career with Juventus. This has reflected the Bianconeri administration in a negative light, and there has been pressure on the management to hand the Juve legend an extension to his contract.

that he is not in the right place to analyse anything. Platini had a distinguished in which he played for a number of big clubs across Europe, spending five years at Juventus. The Frenchman has the privilege of winning the Ballon d’Or thrice through the course
of his career.
Platini was of the opinion that nobody can be in the right place to make any assessments on the situation between the player and the club, unless they are informed about
the inner workings of the whole situation. He further commented:
“It always depends on the relationship between the club and the player. I do not know what the club’s thoughts are and I don’t know what the player thinks, it is a situation
that is different to that which I experienced, I’m not on the inside, I cannot judge.”
Platini is currently the President of UEFA and is very active in bringing change to the game.
