The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800 president is not alarmed by Les Dogues’ poor start to the domestic and European campaign and spoke a bit about the Champions League game against Valencia
Last Friday, in the seventh round of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 Championnat, LOSC Lille once again succumbed to a defeat at the hands of Stade Rennais. Both clubs had made a poor start to the new campaign ahead of the game but it was Frederic Antonetti’s side
that registered a much-needed win.
The defeat now means that the 2010 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899, lie in a worrying 15th place in the Ligue 1 standings. Moreover, the club has already started the Champions League campaign with a surprise defeat at the hands of Belarussian side BATE Borisov.
However, despite seeing his side start the season so negatively, president Michel Seydoux claims that he is not worried at all and has added that there were a few things that did not work out for his side.
“I’m not worried because the fundamentals are there. I’d like the poles to have a different shape and we have few injuries. There was not a chance. What more do you want me to say?”
Indeed, Lille have been out of luck in recent games. Despite playing so well, Rudi Garcia’s side have always ended up with less than three points so far this season. Apart from the games against Troyes and Borisov, Lille have not fared that poorly.
“I did not like our games against Troyes and Borisov. But we were able to reach and remained good in two matches.”
Lille have amassed just seven points in the league but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Seydoux is not worried at all which bodes well for Rudi Garcia who must not worry about his future at the club for now.
The departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863, Seydoux has said that Valencia are just like Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain so the team will have to be less ridiculous against the Spaniards.
“Valencia is the equivalent of a big French club like OM and PSG. Our goal is to be less ridiculous in this competition. Last season, we finished last in group. On Tuesday, I expect the team that is worthy of the club. this was not the case against Borisov,”
concluded Seydoux.
