LOSC Lille president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Seydoux has come at the defence of his under-fire players following a string of poor results including a 5-4 defeat against FC Girondins de Bordeaux at home in the Ligue 1 Championnat
The start of 2012 has certainly not been a great one for reigning Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille. Les Dogues have played seven games in all competition since the new year began and have tasted defeat four times.
The recent string of bad results is certainly a bad one for the club as Lille have not been this week in recent campaigns. Furthermore, the French champions have already crashed out of the Coupe de http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and Coupe de la Ligue this year.
Lille are only in contention for a Ligue 1 title now but even that seems to be a difficult task for Rudi Garcia’s men. As things stand, Les Dogues are chasing Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier Herault by 11 and 10 points respectively which simply means
that a string of bad results for the top 2 would give Lille any chance of repeating their Ligue 1 winning feat of last season.
Players have come under fire due to the recent poor performances but president Michel Seydoux has leapt to the defence of his players.
While talking to RMC, Seydoux said that he is lucky to have a talented group of youngsters and is not ruling out his side’s chances of winning back-to-back Ligue 1 crowns.
“The locker room is motivated, there have been too many injuries and complications. I am happy because we have a talented group of young people coming in and blending with the team. Anything is possible.”
While talking about the new arrivals, Seydoux said that he is happy with how Nolan Roux has integrated with the team so quickly and is hopeful of seeing more of the same from the striker in the future.
While talking about Dimitri Payet’s failure to adapt, Seydoux said that the player is still adjusting to the new conditions just like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 did when he joined Lille. The strongman has asked fans and journalists to be patient with the new players as he
knows that the club will now go through a new cycle when the campaign ends.
