The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800 president has come to the aid of his struggling players and also spoke about the unceremonious departure of goalkeeper Mickael Landreau who leaves the club in dubious circumstances
If one takes a look at them today, it indeed seems a long time since LOSC Lille became an example to the rest of the Ligue 1 sides – a sound club, with growing ambitions, without jolts. Today, all this has shattered following poor sporting results, in-house
crisis and contract terminations.
Les Dogues are no more on par with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Seydoux has been forced to concede that something is not right.
The Frenchman admits that the team is way behind schedule but maintains that there were no mistakes made in terms of recruiting new players. The president says that there is a lot of talent in the dressing room and he knows that he is working with honest
people.
“Everyone has the talent they need to work together. We have talents! I know that players do not cheat.”
These days, every interview regarding Lille leads to the curious and dubious case of goalkeeper Mickael Landreau who a few days back, terminated his contract largely due to his differences with coach Rudi Garcia and Deputy Director, Frederic Paquet.
However, Seydoux says that the goalkeeper staged his departure and is now pretending to be a martyr.
“I think Landreau staged his departure. I did not expect it. He is pretending to be a martyr.”
In an earlier interview with L’Equipe, the Frenchman had a wild go at the 33-year-old shot-stopper by saying that Landreau left because he no longer wanted to be a part of the club’s project even when he said he wanted to finish his career with Lille.
However, Seydoux still says that he is grateful of the custodian for helping the club do the double couple of seasons back.
“I was and am, always appreciative of the player, who was the goalkeeper during the double achievement. Afterwards, there was a divergence of views on some issues,” concluded Seydoux , refusing to go into the particularities of that infamous ‘divergence’.
