Michelle Wie and KMA join hand to support Operation Hero
Kia Motors America (KMA) and Michelle Wie joined hands to give financial support to Operation Hero — a programme run by Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) to support military men and their families.
KMA and Wie have committed to give $50,000 to support the programme and it is hoped that many such programmes will come forward, seeking support.
According to the details, Michelle Wie agreed to work with t Kia Motors America while playing the prestigious Kia Classic.
According to persons familiar with the agreement between Kia Motors America and Wie, the Operation Hero utilises its funds in supplies that are provided to elementary students living in Camp Pendleton.
Operation Hero has been associated with welfare programmes, designed for Camp Pendleton for a long time.
Camp Pendleton provides residence and shelter to thousands of military men and women.
The programme has previously been involved in a number of tasks that helped the children of Camp Pendleton, support their education.
Moreover, improving the living standard of military men and women living in the Camp has also been on the Operation Hero’s agenda.
Vice President Sales, KMA, Tom Loveless, said that Kia officials are glad that they have joined hands with a key figure in women’s golf. He said that the partnership will prove beneficial for both the parties.
Sharing his thoughts about the aims of Kia Motors, Loveless said that since Kia is expanding its influence across America, it has become crucial for the entity to focus on social issues.
He said that the officials of the company have promised to give the much-needed support to more of such social programmes.
"As a Southern California-based company and one of the fastest growing auto brands in the U.S., Kia Motors is deeply committed to supporting the local communities in which we do business," Loveless said.
"Operation Hope delivers much needed services and assistance to the children of our military service men and women and it is our privilege to make a contribution in partnership with Michelle Wie and celebrate her college graduation in a special and meaningful
way," he added.
The move by KMA is being highly appreciated, as George Brown, Executive Director Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA, said the Operation Hero is the most important among all their social programmes.
He said the support will help them provide education and a better life to young military kids.
