Michelle Wie’s game is fast going downhill
Michelle Wie was once considered the youngest golf superstar. Her record as an amateur was enough to convince many experts that Michelle Wie is the next big name in women golf.
However, her performance has been in steady decline over the years and the once brilliant golfer is now reduced to finish the events near the bottom of the leaderboard.
A look at her performance will validate the claim of many experts that Michelle Wie is not the player she used to be anymore.
So far, she has won just two titles. This number is very inadequate, given her meteoric rise in the women golf and the number of years she has been playing as a pro golfer.
She went pro in 2005 and two titles in seven years is not something to boast about for a player of Wie’s status.
Take this year for instance, her record this year shows that she has not posted a single top-10 finish so far. Even when she did manage to perform, she never went up the 20th position. This is something that Michelle Wie’s fans are really concerned
about.
Her best performance so far was in Sybase Match Play Championship, held in late May of this year. She ended up in the 33rd place in what was a minor tournament on the LPGA calendar.
In the recent U.S. Women's Open, she scored 298 points and was placed in the 35th position. The most anticipated event of the year, the Evian Masters was a similar story, with Wie ending up in an unbelievable 64th place for a score
of 294 points.
What really happened to the top rated player who was tagged as the next ruler of the LPGA world?
One possible answer is the analysis of some experts that Wie was pushed too hard as a young player. She was under too much pressure to perform and this led her into paying a dull game and progressively ruined her career.
In a comment, she said that she rebelled against the idea that she was expected to be immersed in golf throughout her day. While this is the basic requirement for success, Wie was not ready for this.
