Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick (D) just got his bond revoked for multiple violations of his bond. His bond set for felony perjury charges and assault on a police officer. This man has had nothing but controversy surrounding him since he entered office. He is a member of the bar. He knows better than the activities he has been involved in. The bond was revoked for not informing the court of travel, again. He in order to give the mayor leeway to "do the city business" allowed the mayor to travel with notice. This is the 3rd instance he has snubbed the courts order. He has never shown any remorse over any part of this case and has appeared arrogant at every turn. There is a hearing before the Governor to dismiss him from the position of mayor. If you have followed this at all do you think this was right? if so, do you think he should be "fired"? If not why? And finally if a "Leader" of a major city is in a situation such as this should he be allowed to continue representing the city at all, even if found innocent. (he will not be found innocent.)

Thoughtful responded appreciated.

And yes I am a citizen, this will affect Michigan much more than it already has.

  1. The Governor needs to intervene now.  Detroit and the area is a laughing stock because Kwame thinks he is above the law.  Through this whole process, he has shown that he feels he is not accountable to meer "mortals".  He has spouted lie after lie and expects everyone to just accept what he says.  What has been made public so far is just the tip of the iceberg.  Detroit has been embarrassed and it will take a long time to become respectable again if Kwame is put out of the picture immediately.  If this is allowed to continue, Detroit may never overcome the scandal.  He has no honor so we can't count on him doing the honorable thing, now we have to appeal to Jennifer Granholm to please please stop this circus and let Detroit start to heal.

  2. I'm guessing the deaths you're referring to are part of the Manoogian Mansion parties?

It's all a matter of time before he gets tossed out.  I'd be surprised if he keeps his job for much longer.  He needs to go so that he doesn't keep bringing down the rest of the area with this stuff.

me: He has been given due process.  Yet, he keeps messing up and getting himself in trouble and making the Detroit area look bad.

  3. He is still entitled to due process  isn’t he

  4. I haven't followed it very closely, but have read over the articles that have popped up here and there.  I believe he is guilty as sin, and SHOULD NOT be allowed to be in a position of power.  He is making an even WORSE name for the city of Detroit!  I think he should be fired for sure!  He is setting a horrible example, not only for the people of Detroit, but all of Michigan, and others outside of our state!  Good riddance, I say!
