It is a misdemeanor.  Misdeamenors in MI carry a max penalty of 93 days in jail and like a $1,000.00 fine.  I doubt very highly that you will get jail time if you do not have a record.  Maybe probation or a serious fine.  If they do give you jail time, I doubt it will be more than 30 days.  Good luck.


  2. If you got a ticket, the fine amount will appear on the ticket. If you're not sure what it is, call the courthouse where the ticket should be paid (the number will be below the address) and ask to speak with traffic enforcement and they'll tell you the amount.
