Michigan vs. Penn State?

Question

Who will win this game between the Wolverines and Nittney Lions, which is being played at Happy Valley? I ahve the Wolverines at 5-1 at this point, with blowout wins over Utah, Miami (OH), Notre Dame, and Toledo, a solid win over Illinois, and a close loss to Wisconsin. Tjis is Michigans' 7th game of the season, and only their second game on the road.

If this game gets too high in points, then Michigan will most likely lose, but if their defense can stop the Penn State offense, I think Michigan will win. (By the way, I am saying this very biased being a Michigan fan).

You might think I'm crazy, but I predict Penn State to win 27-7. But I don't think Michigan's going to get wiped up and down the field the whole game. I think this game will start off really slow, Penn State scores a field goal in the first quarter to lead 3-0, then another in the second quarter to take a 6-0 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, I have Penn State scoring two touchdowns, one being an interception return, but Michigan gets back in it with a touchdown early in the 4th to trail 20-7. PSU then will score a touchdown to put the nail in the coffin, winning 27-7.

27-7 sounds like absolute humiliation, but even though I don't think it'll be statistically really close, it will be a lot closer than the final score. It should be a lot like the game where Penn State broke the losing streak to Iowa, but I can guarantee that Michigan gets more first downs and passing yards. I see Michigan missing one or two VERY long field goals, but if I'm wrong (and I may be, since K.C. Lopata is a great kicker), it could be a two touchdown game 27-13. The reason I say that is because I predict some wind for this game, since there's always wind during October games it seems.

However, if Michigan is 6-0 at this point, like I think they may be if everything works out right, they could have more momentum and it could be a truly down to the wire game on the scoreboard as well, with the possibility of a Michigan win.

But, being a Penn State fan, I can't help but believe that my team will get the monkey off its back (but it won't be for very long, since the last game vs Michigan that I see Penn State winning for awhile will be in 2010, after losing the 2009 game). Should be a fun game.

yeah, everyone doubting Michigans ability to win games this year, they seem to forget that RRod was winning at WVU with a bunch of 2 star and 3 star players. Michigan has 4 star and 5 star players sitting on the bench.

Michigan defense is solid, their offense will make some mistakes

much like WVU did in its first year. Against teams that arent as

sound on Def Michigan could easily escape those errors and win

games easily, but against opponents that have solid defenses and

are on the road those mistakes will hurt them.

Now the Wolverines does have a qb with spread option expierence.

So they'll win more games than most people will expect out of them for their defense will keep them close in most games.

The Penn St game this year I must give it to the Nittany Lions this time

Too bad Jeff Casteel didnt come with RRod then you guys would be running that 3-3-5 stacked d-fense that seems to being stumping most teams.

Michigan has a fourth place finish in the big 10.

Utah game be a closer game than expected, first time this team tested

its new offense against an opponent. by the the time they get to the Toledo game, they should start minimizing most of thier offensive woes

and start running a bit more smoother.
