Swansea City boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup, has revealed that Michu could make a start against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
The Spanish International played no part in the Swans 2-1 triumph over Fulham at Craven Cottage last week after picking up an ankle ligament injury.
Although the midfielder had initially appeared to be doubtful for the Villa game, the news from the Swans dressing room is that he is willing to play through the pain barrier and will feature in the starting line-up.
Michu, who arrived at the Liberty Stadium from the Spanish side Raya Vallecano in the summer, has already netted 13 league scalps this season, second only to Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380. Initially, his injury must have triggered panic in the Swans
dugout keeping in view his importance to the team’s Europa League ambitions.
Anyhow, the Swansea chief has confirmed that the player will make an appearance against Villa during the midweek. The manager revealed that it was Michu’s own decision to make a quick comeback as his injury was of minute nature, but admitted that he will
have to play through pain.
“Michu’s ankle is still big but it’s not dangerous. If he can get his foot in the boot then it’s only a question of whether he can play with some pain,” he told the reporters.
“If he gets a kick it will hurt a lot but in the end it’s up to him. It’s not like a muscle injury where you risk losing him for a longer period.”
It will be little respite for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in an 8-0 defeat, the Birmingham based club fell to Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 and were thumped 3-0 at home by Wigan Athletic
last week to effectively push them down in the thick of the relegation battle.
Laudrup stressed his side to take the advantage of their opposition’s downbeat morale and cross the 30 points barrier. At the moment, the team are sitting on 28.
“It is a key game. We are at home and it’s a possibility for us to go past 30 points. Psychologically that would be very important,” he added.
