You all knew this topic was coming sooner or later. If you haven't already seen it, there's a graphic on TNAWrestling.com with a familiar smiley face wrapped in barbed wire, accompanied with the phrase "Have a nice day".

So how do you think TNA plans on using Mick Foley?

What can Foley bring to TNA as it relates to improving the company?

What was initial reaction on reading the Foley to TNA news, and how do you feel about it now? Do you care?

PEACE

  1. i hope not. but i heard that he is.

  2. I hope they use him in a commissioner role like WWF did a few years back. Unfortunately, TNA's writing is not up to par so it would seem that Foley was making bad matches. Maybe he could be put on the booking team as well. Obviously, star attraction didn't work for TNA (Angle, Sting, Nash, Christian), but I think Foley can create some sort of attraction with the "commish" role.

I'm happy for Foley and I think he's just starting a new stage in his career. Plus, I hope Cactus Jack makes an appearance. However, I'm sure some WWE minions will be unintelligently responding to this question.

  3. First...let me say that I have been a fan of Mick for years (I even have some of his 'infamous' matches from Japan on DVD).

That said.....Bringing Mick to TNA is a TERRIBLE MISTAKE.

    1) Other than name recognition...what does he actually bring to the table?  TNA already has an announce team and Foley can't wrestle anymore.

    2) TNA already has a morale issue with the hiring of all the WWE 'cast offs' (Rhino, Cage, and Angle are the exceptions).  Precious air time is used for the EX WWE guys' promos rather than the X Division or wrestling in general.

    3) TNA has already lost guys like Senshi (Low Ki), Roderick Strong and Austin Aries...Angel is in a mask and Kaz is getting ready for one, too.  This happened due to the financial B.S. that occurs when a known wrestler is paid top dollar and LOYAL wrestlers are screwed unless they are 'repackaged' or quit the company.

Foley stay out of TNA!  You made your feelings about TNA known while at ROH.

  4. How do I think TNA plans on using Foley...that's a tough one.

I don't see him in the shape to wrestle, but it would do wonders if he actually replaced Don West on color commentary. Seeing as it's only a short term deal though, I can't see that happening.

TNA does have a habit of gimmick matches, so I wouldn't be surprised if I saw Mick Foley competing in a few spots here and there. Putting younger talent over too would be an option.

Foley brings years of experience and guidance to a company like TNA. TNA have acquired some big names recently. Guys like Kurt Angle, Booker T and Sting are great names to have in any company, but a guy like Mick Foley is rare and is great to have backstage. People will learn a lot from Foley, and I'm sure WWE marks will turn their heads now that Foley is arguably TNA's biggest name to date.

My reaction to Foley on TNA? Stupid. I don't see why he did it, but it's good business for TNA. They can only improve with Foley around.

  5. I hope so I love mick and I love TNA so to have him in that business would be great!!! I bet WWE is shaking in there wee little boots right now :) lol. Bang Bang b*****s!!

  6. DUDE I KNOW!!!!

  7. This Is Good For TNA Because With Foley In TNA The Ratings Might Go To 2.0? Hey If You Save Picture As That Picture On The TNA Website It Already Says Foley. Nice Job TNA For Spoiling It LOL JK I Wasnt Shocked For Him Going To TNA, He Doensnt Do Much In WWE Anymore...I Wonder If They Would Have Another Invasion Storyline?????? Something To Think About.

  8. Honestly, Mick Foley may be a good fit for TNA. He is a name that most people that watch wrestling know.

As to how they will use him. I think they will use him in a way where he is the hardcore wrestler he always was. This is doomed to fail. I am a Foley fan as much as the next person but this can only fail.

Foley doesn't wrestle a lot anymore and that means the only way you can use him is as a guy to talk.

However if they make him a commentator....that is a guaranteed improvement. I think however he will wrestle a few times and it will be dangerous hardcore matches like he is known for.
