Mick Guinea and Viv Hilton hold overall lead of 33rd Australian Nacra National Championships
Overall standings’ leaders of the 2012 Australia Nacra National Championship at Largs Bay Sailing Club have managed to hold on to their top spot with an impressive performance so far. Mick Guinea and Viv Hilton are still standing tall at the conclusion of
Day 4 of the 33rd Nacra Nationals with 10 points after 11 races, which include two discards.
Guinea and Hilton, on their Nacra NQ, have been outstanding on the Largs Bay waters from the very beginning of the regatta. So far they have clinched eight bullets during their run to stay on the first podium place. On the fourth day of the regatta, the
pair took two wins on their F18, Nacra NQ and finished the day with 10 points overall.
Fourth day weather condition were no different than those in the last three days. The breeze was blowing around the Largs Bay Sailing Club from 8 to 12 knots north easterly in the morning session. This remained until the afternoon session, however, despite
these conditions, the fleet was not troubled at all and the sailors completed the scheduled races at the end of the day.
Ullman Sails’ Dale Mitchell and Scott Sullivan are on the second podium finish with 26 points. They will be looking to put in an improved performance if they want to catch up to the fleet leaders. Meanwhile, with just one-point difference between them, Mal
Richardson and Dan Hydan, on their F18 Malice, have occupied third position by 27 points.
