Mick Slates favourite for Book Tickets On-Line At catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap
Mick Slates will be a solid contender for victory in the Book Tickets On-Line At catterickbridge.co.uk Handicap at Catterick in England on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. The class-5 winner will be awarded a cash prize of £2,264.
The track will be soft and a total of 12 runners will be fighting for glory in the 7 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 14:50 GMT. The conditions are a bit tricky due to rain, thus anything can happen at the end of the day.
However, there is a very good chance for Mick Slates to shine in the race, as he will like running in these conditions. He has been given a general starting price of 13 to 2 by the bookies and his recent run of good form will definitely help him attract
some bets from the punters.
The three-year-old gelding does not have a lot of experience, but he has been around for quite some time now and will be fully aware of tackling with pressure situations. He has entered a total of 13 events until now, but does not have a good winning percentage,
winning just twice. In addition to that, he has secured the runner up position on the same number of times whereas finished third once.
The Declan Carroll’s trainee first came on the scene back in April 2011 and his performances at the start of his career were below par. He struggled throughout that season and appeared to be an ordinary runner.
However, the young gelding finished the 2011 season on a high, bringing up his maiden victory out of nowhere. He had been priced 16 to 1 back then and there were some very good runners up against him. His past form also suggested that he would not trouble
the front runners.
Despite all the odds going against him, the Irish gelding stunned one and all with an impressive victory. His performances in the next season became far better compared to his first year in the sport.
Moss Vale’s son was victorious in his penultimate race and finished runner up last time around on a soft ground. This will definitely give his fans a lot of hope that he will manage to battle at the top under jockey, Neil Farley.
