The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800 goalkeeper who is currently a free agent, could join the English Premier League giants as a back-up to Petr Cech but a stay in France would be what the France international prefers
Free agent since storming out of the office of LOSC Lille on December 6, France international, Mickael Landreau is expected to announce a decision regarding his future club very soon. The 33-year-old does not want to hang up his gloves yet and wants to break
one record before he spells curtains on a long and illustrious career.
Right now, the record of most appearances in Ligue 1 is held by former AS Monaco legend, Jean-Luc Ettori. The former France international played 602 Ligue 1 games for the Monegasque club and 20 years after his retirement, the record still stands tall and
proud.
And, with 568 appearances in the Championnat, the former Lille custodian seems pretty keen on breaking this particular record. Reports claim that three Ligue 1 clubs are willing to offer Landreau a chance to do exactly this.
Nancy Lorraine, Evian TG and Bastia are willing to take their chances on the experienced shot stopper come the January transfer window. However, all these aforementioned clubs already have good keepers in their respective squads so Landreau might not be
able to become an automatic choice as soon as he signs a contract. So, Landreau might prefer joining a Ligue 1 side next season.
After never being able to play abroad, Landreau is willing to test his skills in the English Premier League for six months or so. Reports in L’Equipe claim that the 33-year-old could be approached by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC where the club’s goalkeeping coach, Christophe
Lollichon is working.
Reports further claim that the two men enjoy good relations with eachother and have already discussed the possibility of Landreau’s arrival at Stamford Bridge. The Frenchman would not be against the idea of playing as a back-up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837.
Furthermore, after never being able to play outside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 before he returns to France to try and break Ettori’s record.
