Mickael Pietrus wants to return back to Boston Celtics – NBA Update
On Wednesday afternoon while making an appearance at the Boston Celtics training facility in Waltham, soon to be free agent, Mickael Pietrus made his intentions clear that he wants to return back to the Celtics next season.
"I feel like, for me, I feel like it's home," Pietrus said. "I feel like I'm home. My summertime is hanging out with the Celtics. And I'm excited about [the NBA draft on Thursday], too. So I've never experienced any of the draft
experience, so hopefully I'll be in the Garden and cheering for my new teammates."
Pietrus underwent surgery on his right knee two weeks ago and has been going through the rehabilitation process ever since, trying to work his way back to full witness. He is hopeful of the lingering problem to go away.
"My rehab's been great. The Celtics have been great for me, My knee feels so much better, so I look forward to being on the floor with my teammates and others, coming here and working on my game, and trying to win. I just want
to win. I'm feeling better.”
“So, MP gonna be back, flying again." -
He went on to contemplate on his commitment to the Boston team by saying that he wants to be a Celtic for many years to come. Pietrus will become a free agent on July 1 and a deal is expected to materialize by the 11th
of the month with agent, William McCandless, handling the matter.
After making it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals with a depleted line up the gritty Boston Celtics have a lot of work to do before they can re-establish themselves as the title contenders and re-signing Pietrus will
be just one piece of the puzzle.
The bigger piece at the moment for the C`s is to re-sign Kevin Garnett who is going to be a free agent as well in July. If this Boston team wants to come back stronger next year, they would have to bring back Garnett, who along
with Rajon Rondo was the key in taking the Greens all the way through to the Conference Finals this season.
