After a hammering of the hands of England, Mickey Arthur, the Australian coach, is devastated by the players’ poor body language and hopes to avoid a whitewash by winning the last of the five-match One Day International (ODI) series.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 defeated the Kangaroos by eight wickets in the fourth fixture at the Chester le Street to clinch the series. The Poms have already taken a decisive lead in the battle but both the teams still have a lot to play for in the last match, which will be
played at the Old Trafford tomorrow.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 and company are lucky that the third ODI was abandoned due to rain last week,
as a whitewash (5-0) in the series would have made England the top team of the globe.
Arthur, who took over the job last year, believes that the Baggy Greens have been doing brilliantly in the sport’s longer version but their performance in the 50-overs format has left a lot to be desired.
The South African expressed, "I think our Test team is really good, it's really settled, it's got that hard edge. The Twenty20 team, we haven't really had that much time together, but the one-day team there's just that something missing."
The mentor slammed his team’s body language and feels that it has been quite unlike the Aussies in the current tour. Arthur wants his team to raise the bar in the last match to restore some pride.
He further added that Australia performed exceptionally well in the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 last year and urged the boys to show the same kind of aggression and intent, if they want to be successful in international cricket consistently.
"I want to see a bit of mongrel come Tuesday, I really do. I think we've been a bit submissive this whole series. We've allowed [ourselves] to be bullied, and we're better than that. I don't think we've had a presence this series. Like the presence our Test
team had against India - when we walked on that field there was body language," Arthur mentioned.
