The Australian coach Mickey Arthur is eager to see the prolific http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
Shane Watson, the 30-year-old all-rounder hailing from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in October-November last year.
The all-rounder had picked up a hamstring injury during the final Test match of the two-match series against the Proteas in Johannesburg and has not featured in a competitive game since then. After missing the two-Test home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, the
hard-hitting opener was expected to return for the four-match home Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, but the right-hander failed to prove his fitness throughout the series.
Having missed the two T20 Internationals as well, the Australian coach Mickey Arthur is hoping that the stylish opener will be fit to return at some point during the ongoing triangular series. However, the coach was reluctant to put a definitive time frame
on his return to the national team.
"It's been frustrating for us and frustrating for Shane," said Arthur during a media encounter on Wednesday.
The Queenslander is set to make a comeback to competitive cricket this Saturday by representing Sutherland in a one-day match against Easts at Waverley Oval this Saturday.
"Hopefully it goes well for him this weekend then we can re-asses where he is and get him back for the one-day competition,” said Arthur, who took over in November last year as the first ever foreign coach of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
"But I don't think we can put a time frame on that. We've got to be happy and he's got to be happy that his body can sustain batting and bowling," he added further.
Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 made his international debut in March 2002, in a One Day International match against South Africa at the Centurion. To date, he has played 140 ODIs compiling 4186 runs and claiming 138 wickets.
Shane Watson is eagerly expected to join up with the team and provide stability at the top of the order.
