Mickey Arthur hints about rotating his fast bowlers – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, but feels that it will not hurt the side's combination because all the bowlers in the
team are world-class.
The five-match ODI series between the two countries will start on June 29 at the Lord’s, and the Kangaroos are taking this short series as an opportunity to prepare for next year’s Ashes.
Since the retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jason-Neil-Gillespie-c66461, the Aussies have struggled in the fast bowling department. The situation however, seems to be improving now with the emergence of some quality young fast bowlers.
The Australian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978, expressed earlier this month that he does not believe in tinkering with the playing-XI too much as winning matches is his sole priority.
However, Arthur, who took over as Australia’s coach last year, believes that the younger lot of fast bowlers must be given an opportunity to develop their game as they have to bear the burden of Aussie cricket in the years to come.
The South African believes that it is also important to give rest to the major fast bowlers and make sure that they are fit and raring to go before the Ashes 2013, which is extremely crucial for the Baggy Greens.
Arthur said, "This is purely about winning a one-day series, but it does allow us to give the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653 opportunities in conditions they will be facing for three and a half months next year. I believe the Ashes next year will
evolve around which team has the fittest attack and can keep that attack on the park for five Test matches."
The coach also believes that rotating players in the bowling department should not hamper the team’s progress as all of them are of the highest standard.
"We're now blessed with a really good array of fast bowlers. We can pick any one of eight without weakening our side. There will be injuries and it would be naive to think otherwise,” he added.
