Mickey Arthur has given his backing to the Australian batting line up claiming that they have enough fire power in their ranks to do the job for the national team.
Despite the inexperience of the top three, the Aussie head coach feels that his team can match the expectations of their fans. His comments come following the win in the first Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, where the hosts emerged victorious by 122 runs at the MCG.
The top order, comprising of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SE-Marsh-c2470 have little competitive experience, which led many to believe that they would struggle to cope with the rigors of the longer version of the game.
While Warner and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 respectively, Cowan replaced Phil Hughes in the opening position and provided calmness up front with a matured knock of 68 in the first innings against the Men In Blue.
"The six batsmen we have at the moment are the best to do the job. We just need to give them time especially younger players who are at number one, two and three,” said Arthur.
While the top three fell short of expectations in the second innings, the game was then taken control of by veteran pairing of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942 as the duo guided the team from a precarious situation to partner in a crucial 100-run stand.
Both defied their critics to make notable half-centuries in the match and their head coach was quick to praise them, saying that the situation demanded their experience to centre stage.
"When the score is 27 for 4, you need Mike Hussey walking to the wicket. At that moment, we needed two experienced heads in the middle. You can't buy experience in a supermarket. I do think the bat camp, or boot camp, offered the best possible Test match
preparation. I think we saw the value of it," he said.
With stability in the longer version of the game on track,  the Kangaroos will be hoping to build from the victory and go 2-0 up in the series when they lock horns at the SCG from January 3rd.
