Australia’s coach, Mickey Arthur, has warned his side against complacency in the remainder of the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and is optimistic about Shane Watson’s return to the national team in the second match at the Adelaide
Oval, which begins from November 22.
The first Test at Brisbane ended without a result but the home team enjoyed an upper-hand over the Proteas, although South Africa dominated the proceedings on day one of the fixture.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 and company took a handsome lead of 115 runs in the first innings and were unfazed by the South African bowlers, posting a mammoth total of 565 runs for the loss of just five wickets.
It is a commendable performance by the Aussies, taking into account the fact that they had lost three of their top batsmen for just 40 runs on the board, before http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942 took the responsibility on their shoulders.
Arthur, who has worked with the South African team in past, understands that Graeme Smith’s men are a formidable unit, being the number one ranked Test team of the world, and knows that they will bounce back hard in the series.
The coach feels that his boys were slow to start in the Brisbane Test, allowing the visitors to post a handsome score on the board. Arthur wants them to be on top of their game from ball one at Adelaide.
“There's no doubting their ability, no doubting the quality of that South African side, they're going to be on song come Adelaide, no doubt about it,” said the Aussie coach. “Against a really good side like South Africa, you've got
to be on the money from the very first ball. We probably weren't and that's something we'll address going into Adelaide.”
While talking about Watson’s potential comeback to the team, Arthur expressed that the all-rounder has started training and the final decision will be taken in some days.
“Watto has had two nets, he had a bit of a run today and he came through that well, he's having a bowl on Friday. We'll see early next week how that's going,” said Arthur.
