Mickmacmagoole dominant in the Three Cliffs Clothing Handicap Hurdle at Ffos Las on 23rd April
Ffos Las will host the Class 4 Three Cliffs Clothing Handicap Hurdle over two miles on Monday, 23rd April. Contesting for the £2,599 purse is a line-up of seven four-year and older thoroughbreds.
The only entry to have raced at Ffos Las and that too during the previous season is Mickmacmagoole, Sadler’s Wells’ ten-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Musk Lime.
He won the UC Better Handicap Hurdle on 28th November over two miles while riding with E. Tudor and leading the runner up, Azione, by 1 ¾ lengths. Azione, the 8/11 favourite, was ridden by Nick Scholfield and was soon joined by Gross Prophet.
Before this the ten-year-old raced at Ffos Las on 7th March in the Brightwells The Bloodstock Equine Auctioneer Handicap Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs. Mickmacmagoole shoved Sparrow Hills in the runner up’s lot by taking charge of the
final 2 ¾ lengths.
The 4/1 favourite of the race, Zakatal, ended third on the line-up of eight.
Out of the three victories that he claimed in 2011, two were at Ffos Las and the seasonal debut victory was at Ludlow.
Evan Williams’ under charge, Mickmacmagoole, has raced twice during the new season and has ended at the sixth position in both the races. The debut was at Fontwell while the second chance presented itself at Towcester.
He is in for the third outing of 2012 and that too at a third different venue with jockey E. Tudor for the first time during the new season.
Mickmacmagoole will have to look out for Speed Steed, One Cool Cat’s five-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Dhakhirah. Not that he has any racing experience at Ffos Las but the five-year-old has progressed drastically through the four outings during the
new season. His seasonal debut was at Towcester and the fourth attempt was at the same race course too.
Other than that he has raced at Market Rasen and Plumpton. He improved from the fourth ending in the seasonal debut to claiming the race in the most recent try.
He was the 7/4 favourite winner of the Ladbrokes Mobile Novices’ Hurdle on 26th March at Towcester over two miles while riding with Richard Johnson.
