Micky Hazard, the former Tottenham Hotspur player, has revealed he believes former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 manager Pep Guardiola would be the perfect replacement for Harry Redknapp.
Tottenham Hotspur announced on Thursday that the English manager had been relieved of his duties at the London club. While Redknapp claimed it was the hierarchy’s dislike for him that had been the cause for his sacking, it is believed that he was let go
because he failed to secure UEFA Champions League football.
While the Spurs finished at fourth place on the Premier League table, since London rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 won the Champions League, they automatically took Tottenham Hotspur’s spot in the competition. Despite all their efforts, the Spurs were left without a chance
to compete in the European competition for next season.
Amongst the many managers Tottenham Hotspur have lined up as possible replacements for Harry Redknapp, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 is undoubtedly the favourite. However, Hazard believes the London side would be better off if they managed to get Guardiola.
According to the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Guardiola would be the perfect manager for the London side. He felt the 41-year-old Spaniard would be the best option for the Spurs, who had done well under Redknapp but had always fallen short.
Hazard did not feel it was impossible to bring in Guardiola, who quit as the Barcelona manager after an extremely disappointing season with the La Liga giants. He believed Guardiola would prove to be just what Tottenham Hotspur needed and would satisfy their
long term plans.
Hazard said while speaking to reporters:
“If we had the choice of everyone that's out there, there's only one name that stands out and that's Guardiola. He would fit in perfectly with our style of play.
People might say that that is impossible but sometimes dreams come true. It's not about the money with him, he's probably wealthy enough now to live his life twice over without any problems.
With Guardiola it's about the project. We could give him 10 years to turn Spurs into the next Barcelona, a team that dominates Europe. Tottenham should push the boat out to get him.”
