  1. Microfiber furniture gives a classic yet modern look to your home decor. With the soft feeling, it welcomes you after a hard day at work, but it also stands the test of time. Cleaning your microfiber will keep your furniture looking fresh and new.

    Step1

Vacuum the furniture thoroughly to remove any dust, debris or sharp items that might tear or damage the furniture.

    Step2

Dampen a white cloth with a small amount of dish soap and gently swirl it over any marks, stains or food spots. Take a clean, dry white cloth and briskly rub the newly cleaned area, circling widely into the already dry areas to blend the two together. Repeat occasionally until the furniture is completely dry.

    Step3

Remove food that is stuck to the fabric by gently rubbing until the food dissolves. Do not try to pry or pick it off as this will tear the fabric, causing permanent damage to the furniture.

    Step4

Use a baby wipe to remove ink, crayons, marker and other tough stains. Baby wipes will also clean away water rings left by washing with straight water or an incorrect detergent.

    Step5

Wet a magic eraser and ring out excess moisture to remove sticky substances like gum and candy.

    Step6

Keep your microfiber furniture clean with occasional cleansing with the fabric attachment for your steam cleaner. If you don't have a steam cleaner, you can rent one.

Avoid water rings after cleaning by being careful not to saturate the fabric microfiber when cleaning.

Be careful not to pry sticky substances from the fabric as this will tear it.

  2. Oh boy, you're gonna love this!  I have micro-fiber in my den, and here are ways I've cleaned it:  First time (being oh so cautious), I followed my cleaning instructions and used only the suds of dish washing liquid on a barely damp white lint free cloth.  That worked OK, but was awfully slow and with 2 kids, you need faster!  Since then, I've gone mostly to a cloth dampened by soapy water (not too soapy, but enough to cut the grime).  And I just scrub the "tar" out of it!  Recently I put my chair in the middle of the den, and sprayed the whole thing with Tough Stuff, then "scrubbed" it down with my damp cloth.  For real, it looked like a new chair.  My furniture is almost 7 years old.  I'd love new, but even with a 5 year old grandson and a puppy almost a year old, the stuff still looks great!

So start out cautiously, but I really don't think you're going to hurt it just using plain ole soap & water!  The only other suggestion I'd have is try to use as little water as possible to avoid water stains.  And also you don't want wet furniture!    Good Luck & hugs to the kids
