Microphone / Headset for LandLine Phone with great background noise reduction (including people talking)?

I am looking for a headset preferably with a 2.5mm single end that the mic eliminates background noise, including other people talking not close to the mic but in say the next cube over. We currently have the Plantronics CT12, which even though it states to have a noise cancellation mic, it picks up a ton of vocals in the background.

If possible I would like to be able to plug the headset into the cordless 'remote unit' of the CT12 (its basically a phone with only a jack for the headset, no speaker or mic inside itself)

The Plantronics H81-N (Tristar) headset is fantastic -- it's what I use and it does have pretty great noise canceling features. The "Firefly" headset that comes with the CT-12 is c**p.

I recommend that you try one of two plantronics headsets:

* H81-N "Tristar" -- rests on/in the ear, very comfortable for moderate usage (several hours a day).

*H91-N "Encore" -- this thing has a headband; it's not great for your hair, but if you're gonna be wearing it all day, it's the best. It also comes in a "dual" model, but I can't remember the number.

In order to connect either of these to your existing CT-12, you'll need a QD to 2.5 adapter. That's Plantronics Model number 43038-01.
