Microphone is not functioning

Question

hi, I have Toshiba M55-s325 system...audio is functioning but microphone seems to be not functioning ... when I make internet calls... I hear the other party's voice but they are not able to hear my voice .... I do not know this happend after I installed skype or affected with some spy???? please help me.
