Microphone picks up everything..?

which is normally not a problem..

but, sometimes we use delay effect with the vocals... causing the guitar and drums to sound like c**p through the PA... guitar is not that bad, but drums sound horrible and run together with delay..

how can we reduce/fix this problem??

There is an easy way to connect the effects unit to your mixer so that only the channels you want will have the effects.

You need to use a "post fader" aux send for the effects unit.   Connect the aux send output to the input of the effects unit.  And take the output of the effects unit to a return or spare input on the board.  This way only the channels that have their aux send turned up will have effects.
