Microphones Hate me.?

Question

Whenever I sing into a microphone it sounds even worse than without a microphone. Why is that? Is it something that causes it to go like that in the mic or something?

I can't afford a voice teacher nor are there any in my area. What are somethings I could do to help my voice improve a bit also. Maybe if it improved a bit, then it would sound better in the mic?

That's true, I hear my voice is different when I grab the mic also.  I think the echo or just the distortion of the pa system have something to do with it. It all depends what kind of singing you are talking about too. But to improve your voice all I have for you is keep practicing. That's what I did and I got 100% better. Or you can have some egg whites in the morning. lol
