Microsoft Excel, Subtract Function?

Can anyone tell me what the subtract paste function is? I cant seem to find it.

    where A1 and A2 are the cell numbers to be subtracted.


  2. I'm not sure what you mean. Which edition of Excel are you using; 2003 or 2007? If you are using Excel2007, click on the "Insert" tab and then check the upper right-hand corner of the window for a symbol that looks like "∑".

    Or you can press "F1" on your keyboard and tell/ask (by typing) Excel what you are trying to do because from my point, your question isn't clear enough for me to put a finger on the issue.

  3. In MS Excel 2007 upper right corner click help, on the help page,  upper left corner type the subtract function in search box, there u have difference information.  

  4. Could you be asking about "paste special?"  

    I don't use Excel, so I can't give you a precise answer.  You will  find "paste" in one of the pull down menus at the top and it will give you the option of "paste special."  Select that, and then specify to subtract the value in the clipboard.
