In previous versions of Excel, I have been able to conditionally format one column based on values located in an entirely different column. Can I do this in Excel 2007? If so, please explain how!

  1. Yes, you can. When applying formatting, select the second option, "Format only cells that contain..." When specifying your values, use cell references instead of hardcoded values.

  2. go to your <Home> ribbon.  In the middle of it, you'll see the Conditional Format option.
