Question:

Microsoft Office Student/Teacher 2003 won't install on Windows Vista?

The school year's about to start again and I desperately need Microsoft Office to install on my laptop. I managed to crawl by the last school year on an Office 2007 trial, but that has long expired. Now, the only hope I have is to use a Microsoft Office 2003 disc that I purchased in 2004 or 2005 or so. However, it won't load on my laptop. The laptop does not read the disc and when I go into My Computer, there's nothing listed for the CD drive, as if there is no disc in there. This is perhaps the only disc I own that does not function on my laptop... and of course, it's the one I need the most. The disc works fine on my parents' home computer, but that computer runs Windows XP. Also, the disc has no visible scratches.

I don't want to spend over a hundred bucks on a new version of Office when I have an older version that is just fine and SHOULD be perfectly functional... can someone please help me with this?

  2. It sounds like a problem with the disc.  You can try connecting an external CD drive and see if it will install from there - some drives are more sensitive than others.  You may also be able to use your parents' computer to duplicate the disc.  A copy may work.

  3. if you laptop does not got service pack 1 for windows vista get it

keep your computer up to date
