  1. Try Open Office. Unless you use a few obscure MS Word features, OO will do the job.

  2. 2003 is not the free one .... but i guess office 97 is freely available .....

  3. LOL, there is No free MS Word!

You have to pay for 2003 just like u have to pay for 2007. Unless u get a pirated version of MS Word...

Check the CDs that came with your computer, sometimes they have a free copy of Word Perfect, which is kind of like MS Word.

  4. I suspect you uninstalled the trial version itself.  When it comes up, it looks like it's demanding you buy it, but if you click the Continue button, it lets you use it for 25 uses or 30, 60 or 90 days.   You might want to keep an eye on the number of uses it says you have left so you're not caught in the middle of a critical project when it turns itself off.

You might be able to reinstall it from the Microsoft Web site.

    Hope that helps.

  5. Unfortunately there's no free Microsoft Office out there.

What you might have been thinking about is OpenOffice, which is a free software that does nearly everything MS Office does. It supports MS Offices .doc files and can save your work in a range of formats including .doc. Your only other option would be to buy a copy of MS Office. You can have both on your computer at the same time; plus you can start your work with the free tool while you evaluate whether you want to invest in MS Office. The choice is yours.
