Microsoft Outlook Issue?

Hello. One day, i played a game on our computer, and when I stopped playing, the screen and icon's were BIG! This had happened many times before, but the issue disappeared when I restarted the computer. I tried and tried to fix the problem but it didn't work. I then pressed "System Recovery" on the startup page. It said backing up files and such. When I attempted to turn on the computer, it was like it was re-installing windows. All the files and pictures were ok, but my mom's EMAIL account wasn't working because shw had installed microsoft teacher edition. Is there a way I can recover all her lost contacts and emails? PLEASE HELP! ASAP!

  1. if it said backing up files, search your computer for email. search is usually in start.

  2. yikes, google it.

  3. FOR XP: Search for *.pst file, in the hidden files and folders.  It should show up under a directory path like:  c:\documents and settings\MOMS_login_account name\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook.

    Copy it to c:\

Open up your Mom's current Outlook profile and then import the .pst file from c:\ location.  You may still have to reconfigure the incoming and outgoing mail servers information, but that is available at your Internet Service Providers' website.
