Question:

Microsoft Word..Any help? ?

I'm planning to wipe my computer as it is going really slow and i have tried everything else. I have saved everything else to a memory stick but I have lost are microsoft disk..is there a way i can save this to the memory stick or download it on-line etc?

  1. No. You won't be able to do so. Better contact Microsoft for a Replacement CD. You need to show them your Serial Number.


  2. No, CD is required, perhaps just maybe if you contact them and show M$ proof of purchase they will send you a replacement CD. But if it was an old version (IE not 2007or something) then probably not.  

  3. Be aware that saving programs, MS Word or another, to memory sticks (or CD's or whatever else), often will not permit them to be reloaded onto the machine.  

    First, it's very difficult to find all the visible pieces of complex software applications.  They're sometimes in other directories from the application's main one (the C:\Windows directory, for instance).

    Second, application installations often store critical bits of information in a huge system file called the Registry.  It's usually not possible to pull out all the pieces you need, and it's impossible to copy the Registry from one machine to another without wrecking the second machine.
