I am using Cyrillic script in Microsoft Word and every single word has an annoying wavy red line underneath it. Can I turn spell-checker off?

  1. It's tricky but can be done. You need to change the default style to have no spell checking.

In Word 2003, click format/styles and formatting. On the right hand side ensure normal is selected and click the drop down arrow and select modify. Then click format at the bottom left of the window and select language. And from there you can say not to check spelling or grammar !

    Told you it was tricky!

  2. If you are pre 2007 version, simply go up to Menu Bar, Tools, Options, Spelling and Grammar tab and then untick against the boxes automatically check spelling, auitomatically check grammar (can't remember the exact wording).  If you are 2007 similar but you have to click on the office button top left of window, down and across to Word Options and then choose proofing and across to find the same boxes.

  3. try this

in Word go to 'tools/options/spelling and grammer' and turn off all the tick boxes
