Here's what my MS Word looks like now:

It doesn't take up the entire screen on my laptop! On my normal computer, the zoom is at 100% and it takes up the screen, but this is ridiculous! I need this laptop for college next month, but how can I write papers when Word is acting like this?! Can someone please help me? I don't know how to put it back to normal.

  1. Click View, and then click Normal. See if that will clear it up for you.

  2. In Word, click on File | Page Setup | Margins tab | Multiple pages: Normal | Default | Yes | OK.

  3. I'm not sure if your problem is the dimensions of the page (apparently 5.5" x ~ 9") or the fact that it's being displayed on only 1/2 of the screen.

The size problem is easy to fix:

    1. Click the File->Page Setup menu item.

    2. Click the Paper tab.

    3. Select the right size paper in the Paper Size list box.

    4. Click the Margins tab.

    5. Set the four margins as you want them.

    6. Click the Default button to make these changes your default for future documents.

The left half of the screen problem is also easy.  You're in Read view mode.  You want to be in Print Layout mode.  Do this:

    1. Click the View->Print Layout menu item.

    2. If this change doesn't stick for the next document you create, change it again, then click the File->Page Setup menu item and click the Default button.

    Hope that helps.
